The Process

If you’re new to water gardening, here’s a step-by-step look at how our Spring Pond Clean-Out works:

Reserve Your Spot

First and most importantly, get your name on our Spring Clean-Out roster. We service hundreds of ponds starting as soon as the ice thaws, so don’t wait!

01

On Clean-Out Day

Our team gets to work! We temporarily drain the water, carefully house your fish, and pressure-wash the pond while leaving beneficial biofilm intact. We trim and fertilize aquatic plants, check and replace underwater lights, re-adjust rocks and more.

Important Note for Larger Ponds

For larger ponds, we refill enough water to safely return your fish, but you will be responsible for completing the fill and plugging in the waterfall pump. This approach helps keep your clean-out costs as low as possible.

Pond String Algae Control

As part of our Pond Maintenance & Cleaning services, we offer specialized string algae control for pond owners in Hampden County, Western Massachusetts, Hartford County, Connecticut, and surrounding areas. Pond algae is one of the most common challenges, whether you have a large koi pond or a small backyard fish pond. Uncontrolled algae can quickly turn a peaceful water feature into a frustrating problem.

Our team begins with a pond profile to assess your pond’s ecosystem and identify the type of algae affecting your water. From there, we implement tailored algae control strategies to restore clear, healthy water—saving you time, money, and headaches.

Consistent, Hassle-Free Pond Care

Aquascape’s Automatic Dosing System delivers specially formulated water treatments designed for ponds with fish and plants. When paired with the system, treatments are added automatically throughout the day, ensuring clear, healthy water and optimal pond conditions—all without any extra effort on your part.
